HARDING: Minnie A. Harding (ne: Forsyth). On Friday, July 3rd, 2015, we lost a very special Mother, Grandmother, Great Grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend. Minnie was born on May 19, 1921, first child of Neil and Elizabeth Forsyth. She resided in the Boss Hill district and received her schooling at Boss Hill School and later Woodnorth School. Upon completion of her public school education she trained at the Brandon Mental Hospital and received her degree as a Registered Psychiatric Nurse. She was employed at the Brandon Mental Hospital until the birth of her son, William in 1952. At this point she returned to the family farm to help look after her aging parents, raise her son and handle the household duties on the farm. In 1970, she returned to the employ of the Brandon Mental Health Centre living and working in Brandon until her retirement. In 1988, Minnie joined her son and his wife Gisele in Pilot Mound, living with them and being a full time nanny to her granddaughter Whitney. It was during this time Grandma Minnie and Whitney developed a very special bond. Their relationship remained strong until her final hour and will remain forever strong in memory. Minnie loved flea markets, auctions, and garage sales where she found the most unique treasures, which she would gift to her family and friends. These treasures from Aunt Min were always a surprise and a delight. Her wit, her sense of humor and laughter will never be forgotten. Minnie spent her last months at Prairie View Lodge in Pilot Mound where she was very happy. She loved the staff and all the friends she made, especially the “West Side Kids.” Minnie was predeceased by her parents, Neil and Elizabeth, her brother Lorne Forsyth, nephew Brooke Forsyth and her brother-in- law Donald Sumner. Left to mourn: are her son Bill Harding and wife Gisele, Granddaughter Whitney (Will Payne), Great Grandson Benton Payne, Brother Budd Forsyth and wife Anne, Sister Betty Sumner and sister-in-law Alma Forsyth. Nieces and nephews: Randy Forsyth (Cathy) and family, Diane Sumner Thornton (Jeff) and family, Roy Sumner (Brenda) and family, Ross Sumner (Linda) and family, Leanne Teichrib (Carl) and family, Dawn Redlin (Gary) and family. Long time friend and cousin Jean Wright, special friends Pete and Elaine Raimbault. Minnie will be laid to rest next to her parents in the Virden Cemetery. A graveside service will take place Tuesday, July 21st, 2015 at 2:00 p.m., with a time of relection and nourishment to follow at Virden Legion Clubroom.Messages of condolence may be made online at www.wheatlandfs.com.Wheatland Funeral Service(204)825-2848 www.wheatlandfs.com
