DYCK: Susan Dyck of Brandon, formerly of Calgary, Alberta and Winnipeg, Manitoba, passed away peacefully on August 1st, 2015 at Valleyview Care Centre. Susan was born on September 21, 1927 in Winkler, Manitoba, the third of five girls to David and Maria Fehr. Susan received her primary education in a one room schoolhouse in Rosengart, Manitoba attending high school, grades 10-12 at Gretna MCI, and three years at Winkler Bible School. She married Frank Dyck on June 5th, 1949 and they were blessed with four children: Vivian, Valerie, Darrell, and Jocelyn. Susan worked in administration for Winkler High School and after moving to Winnipeg, worked for the Winnipeg School Division as a library assistant until her retirement. Susan and Frank then moved to Calgary until 2010, when they moved back to Manitoba, this time to Brandon. Susan was always involved in their local church, either teaching Sunday School, working in the library or singing in the church choir. She was passionate about books, loved to read and has organized many libraries over the years. Susan had a love for quilting and made many blankets and other beautiful items for her family as well as the less fortunate. She is predeceased by her parents, David and Maria Fehr and four sisters: Helen, Mary, Tina, and Elsie. Susan is survived by her husband, Frank; daughter Vivian (Dave Wiebe); daughter Valerie (Harold Kroeker); son Darrell (Terry Dyck); daughter Jocelyn (Brad Heuchert); eleven grandchildren and eighteen great-grandchildren. The Celebration of Susan's Life will take place at Memories Chapel, 330-18th Street North on Saturday, August 8, 2015 at 3:00 p.m. Pastor Gary Jennings of Calvary Temple will officiate.
