HUTCHISON: Marion Alice Hutchison of Virden, Manitoba, beloved wife of the late Earnest Gordon Hutchison and loving mother of Wayne, Brian, and Sharon passed away at the Sherwood Home in Virden on Tuesday, December 1, 2015 at the age of 92 years. Mom was born in the home of her Uncle Will and Aunt Alice Hayward, in the town of Virden on March 6, 1923. On July 17, 1943 she married Dad and they began their life together. They farmed for many years in the Montgomery District and eventually moved to Virden in August of 1985. In July of 1995, Dad passed away. Mom continued to reside in their home until February of 2006 when she moved to the Princess Lodge in Virden. She enjoyed her new home and the many new friends she made over the years there. Due to declining health, Mom moved to the Sherwood Home in July of 2015. Again she adjusted quickly and loved her time at the Sherwood. She said everyone was so kind to her. She made friends with both residents and staff and she appreciated greatly all of the help she received in her short time there. Mom will be remembered by her family as an honest, determined, independent woman who had a heart of pure gold. She was always interested in what was happening in all of our lives. She offered love and encouragement to each one of us and was a best friend to many of us. We will miss her so much but are very thankful for many cherished memories. Mom leaves to mourn her passing her children Wayne (Florence) Hutchison of Virden, Brian (Diane) Hutchison of Brandon, Sharon (Bill) Hewitt of Oak Lake Beach; grandchildren Shauna (Neil) Michta, Gord (Erin) Hewitt, Patsy Hewitt, Peter Hutchison and Curtis Hutchison; and four great grandchildren who brought her special joy, Lauren and Matthew Michta and Avery and Logan Hewitt. Mom also leaves many nieces, nephews and their families who were all very dear to her. Marion was predeceased by her husband Gordon, parents Ed and Bridgett Hayward, all siblings Dorothy (Bob) Scott, Robert (Mabel) Hayward, Hazel (Jerry) Saunders, Margaret (Cliffe) Clarke and infant sister Mildred. The funeral was held on Saturday, December 5th, 2015 at G. R. Carscadden Funeral Chapel, Virden, Manitoba with Pastor Simeon Norton officiating. Active pallbearers were Peter Hutchison, Curtis Hutchison, Gord Hewitt, Neil Michta, Lorne Hayward and Donnie Clarke. A short family history was shared by Florence Hutchison. Ushers were Shirley Kennedy and Donald Maitland. The pianist was Shirley Nolan and the Village Choir were in attendance. Interment was in the Virden Cemetery. Lunch was served in the basement of the United Church by the ladies of the United Church Helping Hands.
