WILLIAMS: Deborah Marie Williams (nee Fleming). March 23, 1961 – January 6, 2016. It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Deborah on January 6, 2016 after a long battle with cancer. Deborah will be sadly missed and forever cherished by her husband John, daughter Ashley and son Shayne, sister Barbara (Frank) Denault, and mother Polly Fleming. She is also survived by mother-in-law Daphne Williams, brother-in-law Randy Williams and sister-in-law Diane (Paul) Dalkie as well as numerous aunts, cousins, nieces and nephews. Deborah was predeceased by her father Robert Fleming and sister-in-law Darlene Williams and her father-in-law Larry Williams. Debbie grew up in Brandon riding horses with her family in rural Manitoba. Everyone knew “The Fleming Girls” and their outfits when they arrived at the competitions. She moved to Winnipeg when she was 18, where she met John, the love of her life, while working at a McDonald’s. Deborah ended her career at Paccar Financial, a job that she never wanted to leave because she loved it so much. In most of her years at Paccar, she was in the North American top 5 District Sales Managers. In order to advance in her career, she enrolled at the U of W while working full time, undergoing chemo and being a wife and mother. In 2015, she was the first in her family to graduate from university. Debbie loved to travel with her family and was able to accomplish many things from her bucket list. She toasted champagne at the top of the Eiffel tower, made pasta in Italy where she spent two nights in a private castle, went on a safari in South Africa and conquered the Great Wall of China. But most important of all was her family. Her unconditional love and devotion to her family often meant that she sacrificed her own needs and wants for them. The family would like to express deep gratitude to all the friends and family who have supported us during this difficult time. We would also like to thank the caring and compassionate staff at the Riverview Health Centre. Special thanks to Dr. Krahn, Robyne, Dr. Cook, Dr. Frazer, Dr. Brandes and the oncology nurses at Cancer Care Manitoba. A celebration of Deborah’s life will be held Friday, January 15 at 2:00 p.m. at St. Charles Catholic Parish, 320 St. Charles Street, Winnipeg. Reception to follow. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Deborah’s memory to the Canadian Cancer Society, Manitoba Division.
