BULLOUGH: Patricia died peacefully at the Assiniboine Centre on Friday, January 8, 2016 at the age of 88 years. Born on February 9, 1927 in Toronto, Ontario, Mom was a very talented Scottish dancer and singer throughout her childhood and competed in Ontario, Quebec and Scotland. She married Fred in 1945 and they had three children, Laurie, Karen and Kathy. Although Mom worked at various jobs over the years, her first priority was raising her family. She was a marvellous cook and host, who, together with Fred, loved to entertain. Her competitive spirit, honed in childhood, continued with her passion for competitive curling and her lifelong love of golf. She and Fred loved to travel and enjoyed many golf vacations to California, Texas and Arizona, always accompanied by their beloved dogs. In 1988, they left their long time home in Thunder Bay and settled in Penticton, BC, which proved to be a golfing paradise. They moved to Brandon approximately ten years later to be closer to family. Four months before Dad's death in March 2006, they celebrated their 60th wedding anniversary in Thunder Bay, with their friends and family. After Dad's death, Mom remained independent for two more years and then moved into Fairview Home for her final years. Mom found Fairview provided a comfortable home for her and she developed close relationships with many of the staff. Her pet peeves included her false teeth that never fit, certain politicians, professional golfers and curlers. Her huge loves were for all of our family pets (including Bear, Bailey, Bella, Cloe and Marble). Mom is survived by her daughters, Karen Lewthwaite (Jim) and Kathy Missere (Mike); grandchildren Andrew (Krista) and Patrick Lewthwaite and Courtney (Mark) and Kelsey Missere and great-grandchildren, Natalya and Sawyer Lewthwaite. Mom was predeceased by son Laurie in 1972 and husband Fred in 2006. The family will cherish her memory in a graveside ceremony in Thunder Bay, at a later date. Donations in memory of Patricia may be made to a charity of choice. Expressions of sympathy may be made at www.memorieschapel.com
