HAYBALL: William John Bruce of Carberry, MB passed away February 20, 2016 in Carberry Hospital with his family by his side. Bruce was 72 years old. A graveside service was held Friday, February 26, 2016 with the Rev. Peggy Reid officiating. Members of the Royal Canadian Legion were in attendance. Bruce will be lovingly remembered by his mother Rowena Hayball, sister Beverley Wiebe (Rennie), niece Kimberley Dyck (Jason), Tristan and Jorja, nephew Christopher Wiebe (Tamara), Dylan and Carson and cousin Valerie McMillan. Bruce was born in Carberry, MB on May 22, 1943 to John and Rowena Hayball. He lived most of his life in Carberry, moving to Saskatchewan with his family in his youth. The family returned to Carberry in 1962. Bruce kept in touch with many of his friends from Lipton, SK. Bruce worked at Nestle Foods for 35+ years. Upon retiring, he worked for Hot Shots of Saskatoon, traveling all over Canada and United States with his Shelties as co-pilot. He also helped at potato season. Bruce loved hunting and owned an impressive gun collection. He went to Countryfest for many years where he met people who would become close friends for life. He was predeceased by his father John Hayball, grandparents W.D. McMillan and Cassie McMillan, Uncle Bruce McMillan, Aunt Dorothy McMillan and cousin Bill McMillan and wife Sharon. In memory of Bruce donations can be made to Humane Society Brandon or the ALS Society. Special thank you to all of his friends and family who visited him, brought food, took him to his medical appointments. Carberry has a lot of special people who went out of their way to help Bruce as his illness progressed. He spoke fondly of the home care staff who came and helped make his days brighter which enabled him to stay at home longer, as well as the staff at the Carberry Health Centre for their excellent care - Thank you all.
