MOOREHEAD: Alice Moorehead (Bocek) passed away March 12, 2016 at the farm where she was living. She was born December 5, 1935 at the homestead in Fisher Branch. Predeceased by her husband Ken, and her two sisters, Mary Neighbour and Anne Rutledge. Left to mourn her loss is her sister Nellie (George) DeGraeve and her brother Peter (Julie) Bocek, and all her nieces and nephews. Also her five sons: Brett (Brenda) Moorehead, grandchildren Kiel and Alana Moorehead, Brad Moorehead, Patrick Moorehead, Troy (Nancy) Moorehead, all of Douglas, MB, Kerry (Joann) Moorehead from Forrest, MB, and step-grandchildren Tyler (Devon) Downey, Katelyn Downey (Scott Young), all of Brandon, MB and Joel Downey of Victoria, BC. Alice taught at Derry School 1956-57, where she met Ken. She later taught at Moore Park in 1958, in which they married on October 31st that year. Later they moved back to the family farm, where they raised their family and farmed. Alice loved baking, gardening and being outdoors during the summer. She filled her winters doing jigsaw and word find puzzles. Her wishes were a private gathering at the farm with just the boys and their family. There will be a come and go tea to visit the family on Saturday, March 19th, from 2:00-4:00 p.m. at Douglas Hall.
