CHANTLER: It is with profound sadness that the family of Dorothy "Marie" Chantler announce her death on Tuesday, March 15, 2016. Predeceased by her husband Lloyd, infant son Daniel, her brother Bob Nay and nephew Dallas Nay, Marie will be remembered with love by her daughter Carole, niece Lynda Nay-Kamann and nephew Darrell Nay (Cori) and their families. Marie was born in Brandon on June 6, 1921 to Robert and Christina Nay. She married Lloyd Chantler on August 22, 1950. Marie had attended college for two years prior to their marriage and was employed for a total of "55" years. She was a teller for the Imperial Bank, a bookkeeper for Clement's Drug Store, Shirley's Card Shop and for Twin Service as well as an accountant for Donovan, Stone & Co. A generous, kind, intelligent and determined person, Marie had a great sense of humour and dry wit. She enjoyed her close friendships and cherished these friendships. Her interests paralleled her daughter Carole's interests through her life; enjoying their cats, attending Wheat King games, photography club, collecting collectibles and crossword puzzles. In keeping with Marie's wishes, no funeral service will be held. A private family gathering will follow at a later date. The family would like to extend many thanks for the care and compassion shown by the nursing staff of the Assiniboine Centre. Donations in memory of Marie may be made to the Brandon Humane Society, 2200 17th Street East, Brandon, MB R7A 7M6.Expressions of sympathy may be made at www.memorieschapel.com.
