HOWARD: Margaret Helen (Robertson) died March 16, 2016, at Sunnyside Manor, Birtle, MB. Born March 22, 1930 in Russell, MB to John Redpath Robertson and Millicent Marie (Hallick). Childhood years were spent with her 5 siblings on the farm (Twin Brae), 13 miles north of Inglis, MB. In 1944 the family moved to Foxwarren, then to Birtle in 1947. Margie worked as a switch board operator with MTS in Russell, Dauphin, Portage, and Gladstone. She met and married Raymond Ernest Howard. Together they operated Howards Clothing Store and Ray's Foods and raised a family of three (Laurie, David and Jeff). Margie is remembered for her great sense of humor and her many talents. She loved the outdoors hiking, gardening, X-country skiing, bird watching, camping and travelling. She rarely sat idle (baking, knitting, sewing) and created many handmade gifts of pottery and pictures done in crewel embroidery. Margie was predeceased by her parents, John (1976), and Millie (1958); her husband Ray (1986); siblings Catherine (2015), Ken (2009) Wotton; Bill (1983); parents-in-law Dick (1984) and Ethel (1998) Howard; brother-in-law Al Cook (2005). She is survived by her children: Laurie (Steve) Lawrance; David (Dorothy); Jeff (Wanda) and grandchildren: Ben (Kandi); Jill (Steve) Warkentin; Courtney (Tyler); Nat (Kristy); Alison; Shelby; Ruth and step-grandchildren: Christine (Keith) Hartwig; Craig Lawrance and 10 great grandchildren and siblings: Peter (Marie) Robertson; Patricia Robertson; Karen (Bob) Marshall; and sisters-in-law: Linda Glover (Bert); Doris Cook (Louie); and many nephews and nieces.
