GIRLING: Peacefully and surrounded by much love, Mary Girling of Shoal Lake, Manitoba, passed away on March 16, 2016 at the age of 88 years. She was predeceased by her parents: Bernhard and Marie Loewen and her siblings. She is survived by her husband Armer; children: Carol, Darlene and Bill (Shannon); seven grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren as well as her brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law and several nieces and nephews. She was a proud and longtime member of the Order of the Eastern Star, the Legion Auxiliary, and the Shoal Lake Agricultural Society. As well as a variety of organizations, she also made a significant contribution to the communities in which she lived: Glenella, Oak Lake and Shoal Lake. Mary was a remarkable and loving woman who listed her significant accomplishment in her life as "raising our 3 children". Family gatherings - large and small, her home, curling and all golf courses brought her immeasurable pleasure. A graveside service will be held at Riverside Cemetery in Neepawa on Friday, May 13, 2016 at 2:00 p.m. followed by a time to celebrate and remember her life at the Neepawa United Church 475 Mountain Ave. Rev. Jamie Bradshaw will officiate. Donations, in lieu of flowers, can be made to Westman Dreams for Kids.
