NAY: Ferne Anne (nee: Maloney). Peacefully, on May 9, 2016, Ferne (age 86) passed away at Silverthorne Care Community, Mississauga, Ontario. Ferne was born on July 11, 1929, in Kaleida, Manitoba. While living in Brandon, Manitoba, she was employed as a sales clerk at Eatons and the Brandon Co-op. In 1950, Ferne married Robert (Bob) Nay. They had two sons, Dallas (deceased 1998) and Darrell. Left to cherish her memory are daughter-in-law Lynda Nay Kamaan (Brandon), granddaughters Ashley and Kelsey, son Darrell (Cori) (Mississauga), and grandsons Curtis (Sylvia), Kevin, and Cameron. Fernes surviving siblings are John (Dulcie) (Manitou), Bette (Ray) Tait (Kelowna), Sharon McDougald (Boissevain), sister-in-law Helen Maloney (Baldur) and brother-in-law Len Hink (Morden). She was predeceased by brother, Gerry (Betty); sister, Lillian Sotheran (Elwin); brother, George; sister, Ruth Hink; and brother-in-law Allan McDougald. Ferne enjoyed spending time with all her family, particularly her grandchildren. Her interests included enjoying music, reading, gardening, and sewing. Her friends were also dearly important to her. Arrangements have been made through Tranquility Burial and Cremation Services in Mississauga. Cremation has taken place and there will be a celebration of life and memorial to be announced at a later date in Mississauga and Brandon, Manitoba. A special thank you to the staff of Heritage House, Silverthorne Care Community for their constant and thoughtful care. Those who wish, may make donations to the Alzheimers Society or St. Marys Anglican Church, Kaleida, Manitoba.
