DIMENT: It is with heavy hearts that we announce the sudden passing of our dear husband, father, and grandfather, Rodney William Diment, at the young age of 65 years. Rodney passed away with family by his side and his music playing softly in the Health Sciences Center in Winnipeg, Manitoba on May 24, 2016. Rod loved his family with unconditional love, and was always there for you no matter the circumstance. In his recent retirement Rodney loved to sit outside listening to his music and “watching the grass grow”. He took great pride in his yard and was seen daily getting after those dandelions. He enjoyed building things with his daughter Tracy by his side. The light of his life was his granddaughter Kayla. He loved to spoil her even when Mom said no, and frequently gave her his “history” lesson telling her about his parents and how he grew up. He had always told her that she needed to know her past. He leaves to mourn his wife Mavis of 44 years and a family that loved him dearly. In honor of Rod’s memory donations may be made to the Terry Fox Foundation, 543 St. Mary’s Road, Winnipeg, Manitoba, R2M 3L4.
