GREASLEY: It is with love and fond memories that the family of Jack John Harry Greasley announce his sudden passing on Sunday, Sept. 18th, 2016. Jack was born in Victoria, B.C. on November 11, 1955. Shortly afterwards the family moved to Oak River, where his father taught school. A couple of years later the family moved again, this time to Rivers and lived in the upstairs apartment above his grandparents - in the big house on Main Street. Jack was a very adventurous young boy .Trouble could have been his middle name but he was no stranger to hard work on the farm either. At the tender age of 15 he ran away from home, riding the rails to Thunder Bay, Ont., from there he hitched a ride to Toronto and worked at Woodbine race track. The family owned and raced horses - which was one of Jacks passions. His love for adventure didnt stop there, he enjoyed hand gliding, riding and training horses, hunting, fishing, watching his kids play sports and playing solitaire. He was a bit of a restless soul - moving around and holding down numerous jobs throughout his life. Long haul trucking, working heavy machinery and working at Cando Rail Services to name a few. He enjoyed the History channel, documentaries - he was a sponge when it came to learning. A brain full of useless facts and a great teammate in Trivial Pursuit. Jack was predeceased by his parents, John Robert Greasley and Frances May Franky Saville (nee Fehr) and his wife Rhonda Marie Greasley (nee Fehr). He leaves to cherish his memory: his Main Squeeze Joyce Thomson; children; Kristy Fehr (Jason) of Dauphin; Kendra Greasley (Glen) of Wpg; and Kyle Greasley (Jaucinda) of Rivers; step-children; Ryan (Meredith) Mikkelsen; Ayron (Shannon) Mikkelsen; Lucas Mikkelsen and Kevan (Haylee) Mikkelsen all from Alberta. Jacks zest for life, positive outlook, big booming voice and laugh are among our many memories. His greatest achievement . his children and grandchildren, oh how he loved being a Grandpa! So long for now. Thanks for the memories and see you in the sunset. xoDonations in memory of Jack can be made to Rivers and Area Game & Fish, Box 779 Rivers, MB, R0K 1X0.
