Larrys priority was his family and his happiest moments were quality time spent with them. He enjoyed the one on one with them, at their homes and his home or travelling somewhere on an adventure with them. He enjoyed the hysterical laughter they had together. Watching the grandkids play hockey, soccer, baseball, volleyball, golf and football, swimming, dancing; Christmas concerts and plays. He really enjoyed watching his son Colin play football in Valley City University, USA. Weekends could not come fast enough. Larry enjoyed pushing a pencil. Chairing committees for the MGEU; Brandon Hockey Association; Registrars and Health Care Committees are Boards he sat on for many years. He enjoyed the progress of the many years he sat on all of them and the wonderful teams he worked with. He was a Sr. Leader at North YMCA, Winnipeg; the team made lots of money for North Y. The battle of the bands was sold out. His memories of the great times he had kept a huge smile on his face. He coached football for Crocus Plains High School for many years; memories of after game Coaches gatherings; watching the videos rehashing the game; spirits and laughter were enjoyed. He enjoyed when his sons played; he spoke of how well his sons and the players obtained careers to be proud of; he was happy to be a small part of their lives. Wins/losses all were memorable; the important thing we had fun. The greatest win was bringing the trophy home from Winnipeg 1987. Memories of his trip to Super Bowl 2000 with his sons and brother Wayne. He became a believer of entering contests the day he was called he won the trip for 4 to Atlanta, Georgia. Another pleasure was the Masters 2011 with his brother Wayne, turning 65 was a good year. He enjoyed the Grey Cup in Edmonton with his sons, a trip to Tennessee with Trevor to attend an NFL and an NCAA games was lots of fun they visited many a bar. A huge football fan, he was an armchair coach of the Vikings, Cornhuskers, Wolverines and especially the Blue Bombers. Alice told him to settle down from upstairs. He was happy to see the Winnipeg Jets return to Winnipeg. The diversity of the jobs were rewarding in many ways. The students he was proud to see you grow. In retirement he enjoyed his leisure time, golfing in the summer. He became a good cook and took good care of our home while Alice worked. He enjoyed travelling, wherever; whenever with Alice and the grandchildren, whatever she encouraged him to do; he always needed a nudge. He enjoyed Wednesday coffee with the retirees from the Jail and ACC. He was most thankful for the rides his buddies gave him. Larry had a keen sense of humour that never deserted him; a sage wisdom; a prodigious memory. Individuality, integrity, entrepreneurial spirit and confidence gave him a spark that always shone through. His wit is what always broke a smile on our faces. Larry faced his illness chronic liver disease with grace, dignity and courage. He left the gift of strength, hope and inspiration to all people he knew.
