BELCHER: After 91 years well-lived, Irene Belcher passed away at Minnedosa on Sunday, November 20, 2016. Born at Shaunavon, Saskatchewan on March 22, 1925, to Harold and Julie Wilson, she was the second of three children. Irene was a graduate of UBC, with a degree in Home Economics. In 1954, she married Thomas Belcher. They farmed at Birch River and later at Glenella, retiring to Brandon in 1991 and finally moving to Minnedosa in 2006. Irene’s Home Economics skills and her generous spirit allowed her to create welcoming homes wherever they lived. After 55 years of marriage Irene was predeceased by Tom in 2009. She is survived by her sister, Florence Thomson, brother George (Rita) Wilson, and sister-in-law Winnifred Belcher. She will be greatly missed by her children, Alta (Ken) Fedak, Audrey Clempson, Greg Belcher, and son-in-law Dave Clempson. Irene derived great joy from knowing her grandchildren, Chris, Shari, Erin, and Paul. They will miss her loving presence, as will Irene’s many nieces, nephews, and friends. Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, November 26, at Clarke’s Funeral Chapel, Gladstone with Lynne Sanderson officiating.
