SUS: On Monday, November 14, 2016, Adam Sus passed away at Rideau Park Personal Care Home, Brandon. Adam was born April 5, 1930 in The Pas, Manitoba. He graduated high school in The Pas, then attended the University of Manitoba where he received his Civil Engineering degree. Upon graduation Adam went to Northern BC and lived in the camps while he worked surveying. Returning to The Pas in 1960, Adam was the Town Engineer until his retirement in June 1990. In his retirement he worked as an instructor at Keewatin Community College in The Pas teaching surveying. He retired from his retirement job in 2001 and moved to Brandon, MB. An active member of the Rotary Clubs in The Pas and Brandon, in his spare time Adam enjoyed hunting, fishing and was an avid card player. During the summer he especially loved his cabin at Clearwater Lake. Adam enjoyed travelling. He had a winter home in Green Valley, Arizona and was a snow bird for a few years. His favourite sport was baseball with his favourite team being the St. Louis Cardinals. Adam valued education and community service, establishing bursaries at both the U of M and Brandon University and making sizeable donations to hospitals such as the Health Sciences Centre, St Boniface Hospital and Brandon General Hospital as well as others charities such as the Salvation Army, Canadian Cancer Society, Heart & Stroke, United Way and Canadian Diabetes. Adam is survived by his brother Frank Sus; nieces Judy Melko, Jane (Brian) Eden, Norma (Bob) Stanyer; nephews Lawrence (Jean) Melko, Donald Ezepchuk; cousins Irene Belbin and Vera Hogaboam and numerous great nieces/nephews and second cousins. He was predeceased by his parents Sam and Daria Sus, brother Nick, sisters Mary and Alice; in-laws Mike Melko, Jim Ezepchuk and Pat Sus; nephew Bill Melko and wife Elaine. The family will cherish Adam's memory in a private ceremony. Donations in memory of Adam may be made to the Alzheimer Society of Manitoba, Unit 4B-457 9th Street, Brandon, Manitoba R7A 1K2.
