JOHNSTON: Mabel Jean Johnston of Brandon, Manitoba, beloved wife of the late Andrew John Johnston, passed away at Fairview Home on November 29, 2016. Mabel was born in Birtle, Manitoba on April 30, 1924, the seventh child of Frank and Gertrude Brown of Solsgirth, Manitoba. Mabel and Andy were married at Exeter, Ontario on October 3, 1942. They lived at Arden, Makinak, Carman, Gilbert Plains and Brandon. Mabel is survived by her daughter Sharon (Bob) Yuel of Winnipeg and son Bruce (Colleen) Johnston of Ottawa. Grandchildren include Stacy (Yussef) Hawash, Andrea (Jeff DeMare) Yuel, Laryssa (Damon) Woo, David (Kristen) Yuel, Kristi Johnston, and Kent (Tania) Johnston. Great grandchildren include Willem and Mila Yuel, Nate Hawash, and Alexis Woo. Mabel was predeceased by her husband Andrew in 1992. A private family interment will be held at the Birtle Cemetery at a later date. A special thank you to the staff at Fairview Home for their excellent care.
