COOPER, James Wallace. It is with profound sadness we announce the sudden and unexpected passing on December 2, 2016 of our beloved Dad/ Papa/Great-Papa. Jim Cooper was dearly loved and cherished by his three daughters: Tami Cooper (Mark Arnison); Kim Cooper-Chodan (Brian Chodan); and Lisa Richardson (Garry Gulash). His 8 grandchildren adored their Papa: Sarah, Tom, Graeme, Finley, Sydney, Haley, Emily, and Matthew. Jim was delighted with his 2 great-grandchildren Hannah and Zoe and was looking forward to welcoming their sibling due in April. His very special and dear friend Gladys Roberts will miss him immensely. Jim is also survived by his sister Dorothy Snydal (Dave), brother Donald Cooper (Evelyn), many nieces and nephews, and treasured friends near and far. He was predeceased in 2007 by his true love Florence from ALS, with whom he joins once again, as well as his parents and 2 siblings. Jim was a proud member of the RCMP serving for 25 years in Grande Prairie, Peace River, Red Deer and finally Edmonton. In his 85 years he was a constant source of love, friendship, music, laughter, and caring compassion - he will be missed by all he touched. A service for Jim will be held in the sanctuary of the First United Church in Fort Saskatchewan on Monday December 19th at 1:00 pm. A celebration of his life will be held following the service in the basement of the church. We would love for you to come to help us celebrate Jims wonderful life. Donations in Jims memory to the Fort Saskatchewan Boys and Girls Club, the Josephburg Choral Society, or the ALS Society of Alberta would be most appreciated.
