BADOWICH: Bridget Rose (Popien) 75, of Phoenix, AZ passed away peacefully surrounded by her family on December 15 after a long 5 year courageous battle with chronic lymphoma. Born on March 2, 1941 in the historic community of Polonia, Manitoba Canada where she grew up before moving to Brandon. There, she attended St. Michaels Academy and in 1961, she married Irwin Badowich. She then moved to Toronto for a short time before relocating to Phoenix in 1965. She worked a long career at Diamonds/Dillard’s as a sales consultant and then continuing with Clinique cosmetics fulltime and then part-time until 2016. Bridget was very active and will be remembered as enjoying shopping, hiking, playing tennis, running and vacationing in Tahoe, CA. She was preceded in death by her parents Thomas and Annie (Bialkoski) Popien. She is survived by her loving husband Irwin of 55 years, son Jim, daughter Lisa Swanson, five grandchildren; Chad, Aaron, Kyle, Kallie and Ryan. She is also survived by six brothers and sisters in Canada; Norm, John, Don, Jeanette, Mary Ann Pierce, and Patty Rollheiser, plus numerous nieces and nephews. A visitation service was held on Thursday, December 22 from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. at Holy Cross Catholic Cemetery & Funeral Home located at 9925 W. Thomas Rd., Avondale. A memorial mass service was held on Friday, December 23, 10:00 a.m. at St. Jerome’s Catholic Church located at 10815 N. 35th Avenue, Phoenix, with a private burial following. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be given to Arizona Oncology ww.ArizonaOncology.com or Hospice of the Valley (hov.org) in Bridget’s name.
