MACKIE: The family of Margaret Ann Mackie (nee Franklin) is saddened to announce her passing on November 30, 2016. Margaret was born on July 26, 1924 in Watford, England. At the age of four Mom came to Canada with her mother Emily and brothers Peter and Kenneth, her father Henry (Septimus) having come ahead, settling the family in Deloraine, MB. At a young age, she and her family moved to Bandon, her brother Peter remaining in Deloraine. Mom soon found employment at T. Eaton Co. where she met her husband to be, marrying David John (Jock) Mackie on Sept. 4, 1948. They had three daughters Susan, Wendy and Lynne. Mom was able to stay in her house until a year before her passing at Dinsdale Personal Care Home. Mom was predeceased by brothers Kenneth (1979) and Peter (2001). Her daughter Wendy and husband Jock were both lost to her in 2007. Mom is survived by daughters Susan Tait (Bob) and Lynne Mackie and son-in-law Richard Pacholok. Grandchildren: Jill Jeffrey (Kyle), Erin Tait, Jessica Harms, Kate Pacholok and Dan Pacholok. Great-grandchildren: Nora and Sarah Jeffrey and Elysia Pacholok. A private service will take place at a later date. Friends who wish may make a donation in Margarets name to The Canadian Diabetes Society, Unit A1-800 Rosser Avenue, Brandon, R7A 6N5 or to a charity of choice.
