HALISCHUK: John Halischuk of Shoal Lake and formerly of Oakburn passed away on Thursday, January 26, 2017 at the age of 97 years. John was born on February 3, 1919 at Cutworth, Saskatchewan to Alex and Minnie (nee Samborski) who were immigrates from Ukraine John married Kay Diakiw and together they had two children: Eddie and Therese. John was predeceased by his wife Kay and his son Eddie. Surviving are his daughter Therese Dutchak of Brandon; daughter-in-law, Elaine of Lockport; 7 grandchildren and 5 great-grandchildren. The funeral service will be held on Tuesday, January 31, 2017 at 10:00 a.m. from the Holy Eucharist Ukrainian Catholic Church, Oakburn. Interment will follow at the parish cemetery.
