BUSCH: August 2, 1942 - February 3, 2017. Philip Thomas Busch, (Tom) passed away peacefully with family by his side on February 3, 2017, at hospice in Victoria, BC. The memory of Tom's life is a happy one, filled with many family adventures and successful business ventures through Super Thrifty Drugs. Upon graduating from the Faculty of Pharmacy in 1968, Tom became pharmacist/manager/partner of Medical Centre Pharmacy where he remained until he retired in 2012. In 1977 Tom was one of the original partners that formed Super Thrifty DrugsCanada with John Allen, Bryan Shaw, Dennis McMahon, Greg Skura and Joss March and he was in charge of computerizing the pharmacy services for the associate pharmacies in MB, SK, BC, and Nunavut. Anytime a pharmacy needed an upgrade of their dispensary, Tom was there to plan and help install the new system. Tom was the recipient of the Annual Award of Merit from The Manitoba Pharmacy Association in 2006. Tom had a love for golf and went on countless golf trips to many amazing places. He would play in the Clear Lake annual Tamarack golf tournament, while spending a month vacation with his family. He was also an avid bowler, played fastball for Brandon Auto Electric, along with broom ball and commercial league hockey. Tom was a long time member of Brandon YMCA and yearly gave donations for YMCA Programs while enjoying its noon time fitness. Tom was a very charismatic and generous man with a strong desire to help anyone in need. He was loved and respected by so many people. We will miss him dearly. Tom is survived by his daughter Jodi (her husband, Mike), son Mark, grandson Jack, granddaughter Olivia, sister Jan, brother Barry, sister-in-law Judy, nieces Debbie, De'Ann and Amy, nephews Todd and Trevor. He was predeceased by his wife Donna. At his insistence, no formal service will be held for Tom. In lieu of flowers, Tom would want his friends and family to make a donation to a charity close to their own hearts.
