LAIRD: Norma Doreen. With her children by her side, Norma Laird (née Black) passed away peacefully on Wednesday, April 26, 2017. Norma was born April 7, 1932 and raised in Brandon. She was a long-time member of St. Johns Ambulance and was honoured to be awarded with the achievement to Dame of the Order of St. Johns. She volunteered with many different organizations and events in her life which are too numerous to be mentioned. Norma was predeceased by her husband, Norman, in 1989. She is survived by her son, Byron (Adele) and daughter, Nadine (Barry) Wood. Her two sisters, Elva Culbertson and Betty Kuras and one brother, Kern Black plus numerous nieces and nephews. A Celebration of Normas Life will be held at the Brockie Donovan Chapel, 332-8th Street, Brandon, on Monday, May 1, 2017 at 11:00 a.m. In lieu of flowers, donations in her memory can be made to the Manitoba Agricultural Museum, Box 10, Austin, MB, R0H 0C0 or to your local Humane Society.Messages of condolence may be placed at www.brockiedonovan.com
