ANGUS: Mr. Keith “Gus” Angus, beloved husband of Doreen, dear father of Trevor (Farzanah) and Tanya (Rob) Busby and grandfather to Zarra Angus, Rowan Busby and Tylar Embury passed away peacefully on Wednesday, April 19, 2017 at the age of 68 after a short two week stay at Fairview Home in Brandon. Gus was born October 27, 1948 in Virden, MB to Bessie (Sararas) and Jack Angus. He grew up in Virden and graduated from Brandon University in 1972. On June 8, 1974 he married his loving wife of over 42 years, Doreen (Gregg) Angus. Gus worked at the Brandon Land Titles Office for almost 33 years where he made many friends. He was passionate about sports. Heart and determination defined his numerous achievements over the years: playing hockey in Virden, Souris and Brandon, fastball with Virden and Scarth and golf in the Tamarack as well as various tournaments throughout southwestern Manitoba. A caring father, husband and friend, he spent countless hours at the rink and the ball park, coaching, managing and just watching the games he so enjoyed. Bus trips with hockey teams and parents created many fond memories and resulted in great lasting friendships. He enjoyed country music, golfing with the boys in the “Angus Group” at Shilo Country Club as well as touring different courses around the country, annual family ski trips with friends to Montana and spending parts of the winter in Puerto Vallarta. Even as he fought Parkinson’s in his later years, getting together with family and friends always brought lots of smiles and happiness. Gus is also survived by his twin brother Ken and sister Eileen (Doug) Price and their family. He was predeceased by his parents and Lavina (Tiny) and Robert Gregg. The ‘Celebrating Gus’ ceremony was beautifully officiated by Kurt Ardron on Sunday, April 23, 2017 at Central United Church.
