ANDRUSZKIW: Walter, September 24, 1924, Metenion, Poland, May 21, 2017, Calgary, Alberta. Walter Andruszkiw of Calgary, passed away on May 21, 2017 at the age of 92 years. Born in Poland, Wally emigrated as a child to Canada with his parents, brother Bill and sister Olga where they farmed in southern Manitoba. Wally worked for Manitoba Telephone System as a lineman, where he met and later married his loving wife Bernice. From their first home in Neepawa, they moved to Thompson and Brandon. They loved their active life of bowling, curling, golf and travelling across Canada and the US in their 5th wheel. Later, they wintered in Arizona and traveled more of the world going on 4 cruises to Alaska, the Mediterranean, Hawaii and the Panama Canal. In 2010 Wally and Bernice moved to Airdrie, Alberta to be closer to their kids and grandkids enjoying all the family birthdays, holidays and celebrations. Sadly, Bernice passed away in 2014. Wally will be missed by daughters Donna (Merle) Gouldie and Janice (Mark) Proctor; sister Olga (John) Barchuk; sisters-in-law Eileen Wilson and Shirley (Lloyd) Reidle; and his loving grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, extended family and friends. Wally was predeceased by his wife Bernice, parents Andro and Alexandra Andruszkow; brothers Nick and Bill; sister Katherine.
