SWIFT: Robert Brian Swift, June 25, 1963 - June 3, 2017. My best friend and soul mate Robb, at the age of 53, suddenly passed away, leaving me with a broken heart. Our friendship and love developed when Robb walked into my life 13 years ago. Many special memories were created in our time together, and through good times and bad, our love only grew stronger. Some of my fondest memories that we shared together were with our families. Friday night suppers, picnics, or any occasion that we could spend together was very important to us. Robb especially loved classic car shows, and was extremely proud of his die cast car collection. The Red River Ex, bingo, and all outdoor nature activities were also things enjoyed. Robb was very easy going and personable, and he cherished the friendships he developed with his co-workers, and anyone he met along the way. Viscount Gort was like a second family to Robb, and he enjoyed working for this company. Practical jokes were a part of Robb’s nature. His hearty laugh and sense of humor made him the unique person that he was. That just helped endear Robb to us even more. Robb was not only my rock, but he had a heart of gold, and was selfless. He put my needs before his own, and always made sure I was taken care of. My husband, my friend, my love, Robb was my one in a million soul mate!! Left to cherish his memory are his loving wife Lana (Czech) Swift, mother Fern, brother Garry (wife Michelle and Amanda), sister Janice Swift (Hunter and Jax), mother-in-law Luella Czech, sister-in-law LuAnne Williams, brother-in-law Laurie Czech, sister-in-law Lindy Mayes, and numerous nieces and nephews. Robb was predeceased by his grandfather Doug Swift, grandmother Carrie Swift, his dad Brian, father-in-law Lewie Czech, and niece Stefanie David Williams. A celebration of Robb’s life was held on Thursday, June 8th in Winnipeg. A private interment will be held at Brandon Cemetery at a later date. Donations in memory of Robb can be made to The Heart & Stroke Foundation 3-824 18th Street, Brandon, Manitoba, R7A 5B7, The Lung Association, Box 20029 Brandon, Manitoba, R7A 6Y8, or a charity of your choice.
