BOURNS: Thomas James Bourns of Oakland Municipality died on June 14, 2017. Tommy was born in Crystal City, MB on October 5, 1942 to Sadie and George Bourns. He grew up and attended school in Cartwright, MB. He moved into Brandon and later took his plumbing ticket in Winnipeg, MB. He worked as a plumber in the construction industry, working mainly in Manitoba. He later moved to Oakland area where he farmed 80 acres while raising sheep and guinea hens. Tommy enjoyed hunting and fishing from his early years as well as a game of cribbage with family and friends. Tommy was predeceased by his parents, Sadie and George Bourns. He is survived by many cousins and friends. A graveside service will be held in the Cartwright Cemetery on Saturday, June 24, 2017 at 2:00 p.m. Beth Clarke will officiate. Donations in memory of Tommy can be made to Western Manitoba Cancer Program, 150 McTavish Avenue, Brandon, MB, R7A 2B3.
