MILLAR: Lee Millar passed away peacefully at the Health Sciences Centre in Winnipeg on Thursday, July 6, 2017. All of Lee’s friends at Family Visions are saddened at the sudden passing of Lee who we believe is now with the God that he believed in and who brought him comfort. Lee was born June 9, 1978 in Winnipeg, MB and grew up in Souris MB before he came to Brandon MB to be supported by Family Visions. Lee’s easy going personality was one of his greatest attributes, but he was quick to passionately defend anyone that he felt was wronged and that included himself. This loyalty of Lee’s is what drew people to him and he was regarded highly by his closest friends for his loyalty. Lee also had a great sense of humour. Like all of us, sometimes he couldn’t help but laugh whole heartedly at someone else’s expense making others laugh along with him! One of Lee’s favorite pastimes in the summer months was to drive his scooter for hours around Brandon, going to yard sales, or to some of his favorite hangouts. Lee would drive around so much that at times his scooter would run out its battery, but there was always a kind citizen ready to help Lee get on the road again! Another pastime of Lee’s in the summer was to go fishing with his best friend Tyrel. They shared lots of good times on a few docks around MB!Lee loved to work with his hands and use tools. He was instrumental in helping the Day Program staff tear down palettes to make some planters as a project.Lee was passionate about fast cars. He had a model car collection that consisted of 160 cars. His favorite car was the Dodge Charger. The freedom Lee felt while driving his scooter around was most likely him imagining himself driving his dream car! Lee was an avid bowler with Special Olympics. He won 12 trophies over his many years of bowling. Besides bowling Lee enjoyed going to the gym to workout with some of his staff. Two of Lee’s biggest wishes came true in the past couple of years when he got his first tattoo of an eagle and also when he got to fly for the first time. A local pilot donated his plane and time to take Lee for a ride. Lee had a deep love for his family and kept their photos around his bedroom. Lee is predeceased by his parents Vern Millar and Alice Millar. Lee leaves to mourn his brothers Ted, Tim and Lorne. Lee was laid to rest at a graveside service at Elmwood Cemetery, 88 Hespler Ave., Winnipeg MB at 2:00 PM on Tuesday, July 11th.
