MANSON: On Wednesday, August 9, 2017 our beloved Carolynn Jane Manson left this Earth and went home to be with the Lord Jesus. Carolynn fought a valiant battle against pancreatic cancer. She was a brave soul and was not afraid to die because of the strength that Father Jonathan Hoskin gave to her. He was and always will be her angel. Carolynn’s life started in Dauphin, Manitoba on the 29th of July, 1948. She was born to the late Carl and Vera Werbicki. At the age of one, the family, along with older sister, Diane, moved to Swan River. Here, Carolynn was raised and went to school. After graduating from the Swan River High School, she entered Nursing School in Winnipeg. Returning to Swan River, Carolynn married Ivan Humeniuk and they moved to Erickson, Manitoba. Carolynn worked at the local drug store, later getting a job as a nurse with the Erickson Hospital. It was here that she obtained her First Responder Certificate. In 1992, she retired from nursing and moved to Brandon to care for a very ill husband. After her husband passed away, she worked full time at Varsity Eye Care. She met Craig Manson in 2000, later marrying him in 2002. They had close to 15 years of a wonderful marriage. Carolynn was predeceased by her parents Carl and Vera Werbicki; brother-in-law Bernie Mereniuk and niece Linda (husband Doug Wilson). Carolynn is survived by her husband Craig; stepson Grady; stepdaughter Canda (husband, Steve Monita and children: Avery and Jace); sister Diane Mereniuk; nephew Todd Mereniuk (wife Theresa and child Halina); mother-in-law Marge Manson; and sister-in-law Barb (husband Dave McArthur). A special thank you to Dr. Butler for helping to navigate Carolynn through her illness. A thank you to Melissa and Lisa of Prairie Mountain Health. Also, a big thank you to Brittany, Kelly and the staff of Brockie Donovan. And, of course, to Sig, who was there in a time of need. In keeping with Carolynn’s wishes, a private memorial service was held on Friday, August 25th, 2017 at the Brockie Donovan Chapel with Father Jonathan Hoskin officiating. Donations in memory of Carolynn may be made to St. George’s Anglican Church, 1011-5th Street, Brandon, Manitoba, R7A 3M1.Carolynn was a very kind and caring person. You could feel the goodness through her words and smile. She will be missed by all who knew her.
