BARBER: Norine Joyce (nee Moon). Peacefully at age 87 in Trillium Hospital, Mississauga, Ontario on October 5 with family by her side. Survived by sons Craig and Brad, twin-sister Maxine Lemieux and brother-in-law Dan Lemieux of North Vancouver, four grandchildren, one great-grandchild, family and friends in Ontario, Manitoba and British Columbia. Predeceased by son Scott, daughter Vicki, husband Donald and sister Nelda of Virden, Manitoba. Daughter of Bruce and Myrtle Moon, Norine was born in Stockton, Manitoba where she enjoyed her early years on the family farm and established lifelong friendships throughout Glenboro and area. Following education in Brandon at the Wheat City Business College she worked with the RCMP Detachment Brandon where both twins subsequently met and married two dashing young men in uniform - Donald, a serving Canadian Army Korean Veteran in Shilo, Manitoba and Dan, a serving RCMP Constable Dan Lemieux - in a highly publicised double wedding. Norine and Don remained with the Army in Shilo and Wainwright, Alberta for a few years before returning to civilian life in Winnipeg and ultimately Mississauga where they raised a family and established lifetime roots. In addition to a career with the University Of Toronto, Norine was a volunteer with the Trillium Hospital and Conservative Party. Known as Mom, Grandma, Great-Grandma, Sister, Aunt, Auntie-Louie, friend and fierce advocate to all that have known her, she was intensely proud of her family and cherished precious time with her grandchildren. Her incredible optimism in the face of some of lifes most tragic and challenging events has served as an inspiration to us all. Gentle, genuine, selfless, loving and caring, she will be remembered for her warm heart, quiet strength and unfailing grace. A very special thank you to Dan and Maxine who have provided a lifetime of memories by way of welcome conversation, friendship, critical hope and emotional support through many of lifes challenges which helped Mom grow stronger to support her family and create positive memories. A private service has been held at Spring Creek Cemetery, Mississauga. If desired, charitable donations to Trillium Hospital would be appreciated.

Norine and I worked together at Research House Inc. She always gave me advice about work and life. I looked up to her as a 19 year old that was unsure about what path I wanted to take. Even to this day she stands as an example for me. I am truly glad for the year we worked together back in 2000. - Posted by: Ryan Maraj (Coworker) on: Jan 24, 2024
