BELL: John Murray Bell of Isabella Manitoba passed away October 17, 2017 at Winnipeg Health Sciences Centre at the age of 90 years. Murray was born on September 6, 1927 in Miniota, Manitoba to David James and Katie (Craig) Bell. He grew up on and farmed the land that had been homesteaded by the Bell family in 1882. He embraced the many changes that came to agriculture and was successful at growing the family farm. In 1951, Murray married Phyllis Margaret Brown and they raised two children, Ronald Murray and Nancy Jean (Weinhandl). Together Murray and Phyllis were active in the Isabella community including a number of terms for Murray on the RM of Miniota council. Murray was a devoted family man who delighted in the time spent with his children, grandchildren and his great grandchildren. He lived a full and meaningful life and leaves behind very happy memories in all who knew him. He was predeceased by his wife Phyllis, his brothers Robert and William, and his grandson Kristopher Weinhandl. Surviving are his son Ron (Brenda Evans), his daughter Nancy Weinhandl (David), three grandsons James Bell, Devon Bell-Evans and Kurtis Weinhandl as well as great grandchildren Spencer, Corbin, Reegan, Keira and Griffin. Also surviving are his brother Jim (Coral) and his sister Janet Kelly (Bud). The funeral service was held Saturday, October 28, 2017 in the Isabella Hall, with close friend Linda Clark officiating. Interment was in Isabella Cemetery. Urn bearers were his grandson’s Jamie, Kurtis and Devon. Honorary Pallbearers were all who attended.
