LINTS: Raymond Drew Lints was born November 24, 1928, on the farm, in the R.M. of Hamiota to Norman and Victoria Lints. He passed away in Fairview Home, Brandon, MB on Wednesday, November 1, 2017 at the age of 88 years. Ray attended Decker School until Grade 8 and completed one year at Brandon Agricultural School. He purchased his first parcel of farmland when he was only 22 years old. Prior to this he worked with many farmers in the area. He always was a very hard working and devoted farmer. Ray was very proud to say he had put in at least 66 crops in his farming career. On July 1, 1954 Ray married Donna Jean Delbridge in Decker, MB. During their 63 years of life together they not only grain farmed and had a big garden, he milked cows and shipped cream, raised cattle, pigs, chickens, turkeys, ducks, geese, and 3 sons and 1 daughter. Son Bob and his 3 children Amanda (Shea), Jillian, Andrew (Megan), foster child Ashley Morden, son Brent (Marion), Scott (Shelley), Mark (Edralyn), Ryan, daughter Lori (Ken) Pedlow, Sandra (Jay), Rebecca, Jenna (Ben), son Randy (Paula) Alexander, Emily, and Noah. Ray was predeceased by his daughter in law Ellice Lints (Dixon) and his grandson Jonathan Pedlow. Ray always made time to stay active in the Decker Community and Hamiota Municipality. He was President of the Decker Legion, President of the Decker Church and sat on the rink and hall boards. He drove the school bus to Decker, Crandall and Hamiota for years. He was proud to be a RM Councillor for 12 years and RM Reeve for 10 years. In his earlier years Ray played hard ball and curled in many bonspiels. Ray and Donna semi retired to Hamiota in 1993 and fully retired to Brandon in spring of 2011. They enjoyed lots of travelling together and spent their summers at their cabin at Shoal Lake. He leaves to remember him his siblings Dorothy Ramsey, Hamiota and Noreen Rosenberger, Regina and many nieces and nephews. He is predeceased by his sister Muriel Plummer and special cousins Connie Bonner and Doug Mitchell. A celebration of life service was held at the Hamiota United Church on Wednesday, November 8 at 2:00 pm. Interment took place at Hamiota Cemetery.
