GARDNER:Lilly Loraine Gardner (Turner) of Brandon, Manitoba passed away peacefully at Fairview Personal Care Home on Wednesday, November 29, 2017 at the age of 96 years. She was a loving mother, grandmother and friend. Lil was born in Elkhorn, Manitoba on April 7, 1921 to William (Jack) and Leah Turner. She grew up on the farm with four siblings and learned a work ethic at an early age. Lil loved her family and spent several years as a stay at home mom. She was an active member of her community and was a great volunteer at many events. Lil worked at the hospital while living in Brandon. Lil enjoyed curling, bowling and was a great cook. You never left her house hungry, as she always had coffee on and fresh baking. Lil married Ron Gardner in 1939 and they were blessed with three children: Ken, Dorothy and Randy. She loved her grandchildren and spent many hours playing cards and games with them. Lil is survived by son Ken (Leona) and children Kevin, Dale and Laurie (Allan); daughter Dorothy and children Terry and Bill; son Randy (Rhonda) and children Kristin (Bryan) and Robyn (Curtis); sisters-in-law Mae Rowan and Wilda Gardner; eleven great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. Lil was predeceased by her husband; her parents; two brothers; two sisters; one great-granddaughter and one son-in-law. A graveside service will be held for the family in Elkhorn, Manitoba, on Wednesday, December 27, 2017. Messages of condolence may be placed at www.brockiedonovan.com
