HOMINICK: On Tuesday, December 26, 2017, Kathleen Valentine "Peggy" Hominick, resident of Rideau Park, passed away at the Brandon Regional Health Centre. Peggy was born February 14, 1921 and was raised in London, England. She met her husband during World War II, became a war bride and worked in a war factory. In 1946, Peggy immigrated to Canada on the Queen Mary, and landed in Halifax, Pier 11. She was a member of the War Brides. Peggy enjoyed dancing, bingo, summers at the cabin, knitting, word puzzles and Shirley Temple movies. Family was extremely important to Peggy and she especially enjoyed her grandchildren. Peggy is survived by daughters, Carol Pochynok of Brandon, Lynda (George) Sutherland of Winnipeg and Barbara (Don) Stewart of Calgary; grandchildren, Kathy (Dave) Olson of Lethbridge, Karrie (Lisa) Sutherland, Rory and Keel Stewart of Calgary; great granddaughter, Kellie Olson; sisters-in-law and numerous nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her husband Nicholas, mother, father and brothers, Michael and Charles and son-in-law Peter. A Celebration of Peggy's Life will take place at a later date.
