WILKINS: Art Wilkins, age 93, passed away Friday, May 18, 2018 at Willowview PCH. Art was born January 29, 1925 at Reston and attended school there. At the age of 16 he left to work on a ranch in Saskatchewan. On his return he bought the home quarter in 1947 and farmed there until 2016. He was a good steward of the land and one of the last in the area to farm with horses. In his heart he was a cowboy and loved horses. Some of his favourite days were spent at the local auction market buying, selling, and trading stories. He will be remembered for his wit, his common sense, and of course those infamous stories. He is survived by his wife Donna, his daughters Wendy (Dave McConnell), Shawna (Rocky Gibson) and Tanis and sister Joyce (John Tureski). Seven grandkids and seven great grandkids will miss their Grandpa Winkers. He was predeceased by his parents Arnold and Edith, his brother Bill (1968), His sister Bernice (2017) his daughter Denise (1961) and his daughter Kim (2008). Funeral service was held May 23, 2018.
