AMY: Le Roy Wellington (Bud). It is with profound sadness that we announce the sudden and unexpected passing of our Dad, Poppa, Grandpa and Great Grandpa, Le Roy Wellington (Bud) Amy on October 11, 2018. He is survived by his daughter Kim Watt (Doug), son Lee (Shelley), and daughter Heather Amy Parenteau (Al). Grandchildren Robin,Nicolas (Stephanie) and Brady (Rose) Watt, Katelin McDermott (Ryan), John (Rachelle) and Mike (Bree) Amy, and Graham and Jacquelyn Sharpe and Nick (Jayne) Parenteau. Dad was especially proud of having four great grandchildren. He is survived by his siblings Betty, Marlene, Neil, Pat and families. Dad was predeceased by his parents Le Roy and Dorothy and his wife of 50 years, Edwina Denise (nee Morison). Dad was born July 28, 1935 in Hamiota, Manitoba. He enjoyed a typical upbringing on the family farm in Crandall. It was here he met and married Denise, the love of his life. Dad studied at Brandon Agricultural School and soon after joined the Royal Bank in 1953. He moved several times with his young family in tow throughout his 38 year career. His final placement was in Minnedosa, which was home for the last 43 years. Dad never really retired and continued to live and play in Minnedosa. He was very active in the community, serving on many committees and maintaining his own financial planning business. He was a dedicated member of the United Church where he devoted many hours to Presbytery near and far. Surrounded by family and close friends in the community, Dad found joy in each day, approaching life with excitement, anticipation and humour. In recent years he took a keen interest in bowling, always striving for a better score. He bowled the Monday before his passing. A firm believer in staying active, Dad walked 10,000 steps a day and kept us on our toes by zip lining for his 80th birthday. Dad was a devoted and dedicated family man, our mentor with a gentle way and humble nature. Memories of Dad's strength of character, his exceptional kindness, and most of all his deep love of family, will forever comfort and sustain us. He was a true gentleman with a beautiful soul, and will be missed beyond measure. The family would like to gratefully acknowledge the Minnedosa Hospital and STARS ambulance. Funeral service took place at the Minnedosa United Church on Friday, October 19 at 11:00 a.m. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Dad's honour to the Heart and Stroke Foundation or a charity of one's choice.Minnedosa Funeral Services in care of arrangementswww.minnedosafs.ca
