CARLSON: Ruth Margaret Carlson, RN RPN. Peacefully, on December 16, 2018, Ruth Margaret Carlson, née McInnes, formerly of Brandon and Erickson, MB, passed away at St. Norbert PCH. Ruth is survived by her sons, William (Yvonne) of Winnipeg and John (Carol) of Roberts Creek, BC. Ruth is also survived by grandchildren Nathan (Nadine), children Nolan and Nessa; Gregory (Jennifer), children Sofia and Jonah; Ingrid; Robyn (Ryan), daughter Clara; Roland (Nancy), daughter Penny; Teresa (Ben) and Paxton. Ruth was predeceased by her husband Ernest in 1991, all her siblings, William in childhood, sisters Ellen Stamp, Netta Ling, Ethel Noonan and her brother Duncan McInnes; and infant twin great-granddaughters, Tessa and Genessa. Ruth was born in Brandon, on January 15, 1922, the youngest daughter of William and Ellen McInnes (nee Wilson). She grew up in the East End and attended the School of Nursing at Brandon General Hospital, graduating as a Registered Nurse in the class of 1944. She nursed in several locations in Western Canada until 1949, when she married Ernie and moved to the farm, northwest of Erickson. She returned to nursing in Erickson in the early 1960s and to school in the 70s to obtain her Registered Psychiatric Nurse diploma. After retirement in 1982, she divided her time between the farm, the cottage at Sandy Lake and as Ernie became ill, Brandon. After Ernies passing Ruth eventually moved back to Brandons East End, residing at Lions Manor. Ruths next move was to Lindenwood Manor in Winnipeg, then to St. Norbert PCH.
