FEDOROWICH: Aldene Emma Fedorowich, January 6, 1924 to December 25, 2018. It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of our dear mother Aldene Dene Emma Fedorowich on Tuesday, December 25th at the Hartney Community Health Center. She leaves behind her eldest daughter Bonnie (Clarke), Don and sons, Darryl and Michael (Janet) and youngest daughter, Lana (Minary) Brad. Her dear sister Marilyn MacIntyre, sisters-in-law, Mary Fedorowich, Anne Fedorowich and Vi Henderson. Her adoring 14 grandchildren which included Curtis (Coral), Darla (Wade) Leslie, Ryan (Beth), Tara (Jude) Jordan, Cory, Matty-Lynn, Frankie, Emma, Harrison, Abigail, Lydia, Brett, Reid and Kyle and seven great-grandchildren Cambria, Cassidy, Charles, Cash, Vaughn, Asher and Ellice. Several nieces, nephews, extended family and many friends. She was predeceased by her husband of 42 years, Frank Fedorowich, her beloved sons Curtis and Garnet, loving parents, George and Winifred Henderson, and brothers, Norman and Donald. She was raised in Sault Ste. Marie, ON and was the second of four children. She completed her Grade 13 at Sault Collegiate and went on to work as a telephone operator at the Bell Telephone. She would meet her future husband, Frank in the winter of 1943 at the Sault. Dad would then relocate her to the Prairies of Lauder, MB in the fall of 1945. She would live with her future in-laws until they married on January 16, 1946 in the Lauder United Church. Known to many as Dene, she was a wonderful loving and giving person who endured many tribulations of her first years in Lauder including the harsh prairie winters, no electricity or running water. Frank owned and operated a small repair shop attached to their home from 1947 to 1963 (purchased from Earl Ramsey). Mother would prepare delicious meals for any and all who stopped at our home. She was a gracious host and often didnt have much notice that she would have extra guests stopping by. Dad would later have the Lauder Service & Welding shop moved up the street in 1963. They also raised cattle and many times mom would be seen feeding orphaned baby calves a bottle in our back yard. She grew a large garden and always canned many delicious vegetables. They would go on to raise 6 beautiful children, Bonnie, Garnet, Curtis, Darryl, Michael and Lana all in the same home that they humbly began as a married couple. Later in 1966, the devastating loss of their sweet young son, Curtis would further test her resilience and faith. Her children would go onto have several grand-babies and she was the most involved and loving grandmother. She adored each and every one of her grandchildren cherishing each moment of laughter they provided. She would also be blessed with seven great-grandchildren. She touched the lives of all whom were fortunate to meet her. Her gentle and patient nature was always constant. Moms cheerful personality, her optimism, generosity and wicked sense of humor were admired by all. She was extremely artistic and her hand-writing was a trade-mark that was appreciated and loved by all who received a card or letter from her. Many of her children recall her assisting them with an art or writing project for school but having to remind her to not complete it perfectly or our teachers would catch onto our antics. She was an avid reader, enjoying her newspapers, a cat enthusiast who shared the moto A home is not a home without a cat. She was a wonderful cook and created the best soups, ribs and spaghetti and meatballs to mention a few. She was always so patient, kind and humorous which made her so well-liked by all. She was known for her beautifully painted long fingernails and jewelry always adorned her fingers. Bracelets and necklaces were also her trademark, she always was complimented on her style! She kept up on the trends and continued to wear blue jeans into her 90s! She loved the simplicity of eating a cinnamon bun with peanut butter, a plain hamburger and indulged in the odd room-temperature beer. Laughter and reminiscing of years past was a favorite for us all. She would lose Frank in April of 1988. Her eldest son, Garnet would pass in 2013. She would continue to live in her home at Lauder until June of 2013 when she had a stroke at the age of 89. Again she would show us her determination and strength and when she could not return to her home, she resided in Deloraine with the assistance of homecare. In the fall of 2016 she began residing at the Hartney Community Health Center until her passing. Her no fuss or muss attitude was unmistakable and muchly appreciated by all the staff. She would never want to inconvenience anyone and often never asked for anything in return. A celebration of her life was held on December 31st at the Lauder United Church. Her wishes were to be cremated and there will be a private family interment at a later date. The family would like to thank the following: Hartney Community Health Center staff and Dr. Cram, Ministers Beth McLean, Reverend Margaret Kristjanson, Lauder United Church Choir, Lauder Community Ladies and the surrounding Lauder Community for their loving support, expressions of sympathy and donations in our mothers memory. Donations may be made in memory of Aldene to the Lauder Hall or Lauder Cemetery Fund.If your heart is breaking give it to God to mend
