YONDA: Joyce Yonda (nee Gregory) March 23, 1932 - February, 22 2019. Joyce passed away peacefully with family present at Trillium Lodge in Parksville, BC. She was predeceased by John, her husband of 32 years and her brother David. She is survived by daughters Diana (Bob) and Melissa (Randy), grandchildren Lauren (Cody), Logan and great grandchild Archer. Joyce was born and raised in Brandon, MB. In high school she set eyes on the love of her life, John. They were married in 1956 and were devoted to each other until Johns passing in 1988. She moved from Brandon to Nanaimo, BC in 1992 with her daughter Melissa to be closer to her grandchildren. Oddly she never missed the -40C winters in Manitoba. She was very fond of watching the growth of her monkey puzzle tree in her front yard. She loved reading mysteries. She greatly enjoyed the company of her friends at their monthly coffee club. Joyce will be sadly missed by her daughters and their families. The family would like to thank the staff of Trillium Lodge for their care and kindness. We would also like to thank Dr. Carly Cooper for her compassionate involvement with our mothers care. In honour of Joyces wishes there will be a simple gathering of family and friends, date TBA.
