CROSSMAN: Marion Krause Vendsel Crossman passed away peacefully at Fairview Home in Brandon, Manitoba on Tuesday, April 16th, 2019 at the age of 91, surrounded by her 10 children. Marion was born in Morris, Minnesota to John and Ella Krause on February 15th, 1928. She was raised on the family farm at Sherwood, North Dakota and attended school at Eden Valley. She was a hard worker on the farm and being the eldest helped her dad with many chores. At the age of 17, she got a job at the Mohall Cafe and met the first love of her life, Eugene Vendsel. They were married on February 21st, 1947 and settled on the Vendsel farm by Grano, North Dakota. From this union 10 children were born. Marion loved taking care of her husband and children, planting a huge garden and taking care of the yard. Marion loved being involved in the community belonging to Homemakers, P.T.A. and the Methodist Church in Mohall. After 32 years of marriage Eugene passed away in 1979. In 1981 Marion married Frank Crossman and settled with him on the Crossman farm and continued to be involved in the community with the Rebekahs, UCW and United Church Choirs in Lyleton and Pierson. Frank and Marion enjoyed many trips over the years, they traveled to Hawaii, England, Dominican Republic, Australia, Las Vegas, Palm Springs, Mexico, Germany, Calgary, Hartsburg, Missouri and enjoyed many cruises. In 2001 they purchased a home in Salton Sea Beach, California, spending winter months in the heat. During the summer they enjoyed many days camping and fishing with family and friends. Marions life was celebrated April 19th, 2019 at Pierson United Church with (Rev.) Heather Sandilands officiating. Music was provided by family friend Sandra Clark and Pierson United Church Choir, Jen Bothe, great-granddaughter read the poem A Mothers Love. Marion leaves to cherish her memory her children, Mary Ellen, Barb (Mert), Dave (Bobbi), Betty (Ed), Diane (Wayne), Kristine, Larry (Shari), Val (Kerry), Joyce (Wayne) and Lisa, 26 grandchildren, 35 great-grand-children, 10 great-great-grandchildren. Arrangements entrusted to Redpath Funeral Home.
