HILL: Joyce Hill passed away at Bayside Personal Care Home May 19th, 2019 at age 95. Joyce clung to life for her long planned 95th birthday party on May 18th. Joyce Grainger was born May 17th, 1924 to Edgar William and Lily Beatrice Grainger. She grew up on the farm south of Boissevain and attended Lake Max School. After working for Sinclair and Maude Brown on their farm just north of Boissevain, she married Elmer Hill November 1st, 1945. They farmed at Boissevain until 1952, when they moved to a farm at Minto until 1955. Elmer then opened a garage, Central Motors on Broadway Ave. in Boissevain. He sold it in 1965 and worked in garages until retiring from the Peace Gardens. Elmer and Joyce moved to Killarney in 1986. Elmer passed in 2002 at 91 years. Joyce resided in their house, until health required she move into Bayside Personal Care Home in Killarney. She loved the care she received from everyone there, and the family is grateful for the years that she resided there. Joyce and Elmer had 5 children. Barry (Gloria) born in 1946, lives in Brandon, Betty Comba born in 1948, lives in Brandon, Joan (Noel) Potter, living in Killarney, was born in 1955, Murray born in 1952 and Garth in 1957, both passed away in November 1973. Joyce was predeceased by her brother Bill and sister Beryl. She is survived by her sister Doreen Washington, sister-inlaw Doreen Grainger, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
