EVASON: Allan Roy passed away May 11th, 2019 in Brandon, Manitoba. Al was born in Dauphin on January 7th, 1939, the eldest of six children. Al was predeceased by his parents, sister Gail, sons D.A. Heavy and Terry. He is survived by wife Sheila, son Dean (Gen), grandchildren Bryce (Julia), Brianne, Brooke, Lisa (Peter), daughter-in-law Roz (Rene), Sherri (Barry), brothers Barry (Eva), Ron, Ken (Barb), Cliff (Pat), three great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews, both Evason and Spencer. Al was very sports minded, going overseas at the age of 20 to play hockey in Wembley, England. After returning to Dauphin, he met and married Sheila and together they spent many years in northern Manitoba where their sons were born. He played hockey and baseball while working for Steel Gas and Powell Equipment. Al was inducted into the Manitoba Baseball Hall of Fame as a member of two teams and also individually. This coming October, he will be inducted into the Manitoba Hockey Hall of Fame as a member of the Flin Flon Warriors. Along with playing these sports, Al loved to golf and camp. He was a true family man, traveling and enjoying all activities of his sons’ and extended family. He also loved his four legged family of dogs.
