HASIUK: Blair Alexander Hasiuk passed away suddenly on Monday, July 15, 2019 in Brandon at the age of 65 years. Blair was born in Minnedosa, Manitoba on February 11, 1954. He is survived by his wife Sonia, her son Kevin (Laurie) Bachewich, grandsons Liam and Jackson, brother Edward, sister-in-law Suzanne, brother Darrell (Marguerite) and many nieces and nephews; brothers-in-law, Ernie (Anne) Bachewich, Ron (Julie) Bachewich, sisters-in-law Frances Kuzmak, Helen (Les) Lewandoski, and Pat (Don) Babiak. Blair was predeceased by his father Norman and mother Margaret. At a very young age Blair moved to Neepawa with his parents and brothers. This is where Blair went to school until he graduated and moved on to work for Manitoba Telephone System. Throughout those years he worked twice in Leaf Rapids, Steinbach and Brandon. Blair loved working for the company as a Field Service Technician and years later as a tester. A highlight of his MTS career was in 1997 and 1999 when he went to San Francisco, California area to work with Pacific Bell, MTS, California Team. After years of biking and walking to work, Blair retired on April 5, 2019. After nearly 46 years he was finally ready for it. Throughout his life he enjoyed playing slow-pitch, curling and golfing until he no longer could. Blair didn't travel much but did go to Indonesia, Mexico and California. He loved looking after his garden and yard. Every Friday night he enjoyed going out to different restaurants to eat and many teen burgers at A&W with a coupon, of course! Blair's weekends in the summer were taken up by watching Canadian Football especially his team, the Winnipeg Blue Bombers. Watching TV was something he always enjoyed, sometimes 55 plus shows that were taped. Even though he couldn't always be there, Blair enjoyed watching Liam and Jackson play baseball or hockey. The last two weekends were spent at the ball diamonds cheering the grandkids on, even though it was very hot. Blair was so, so proud of them when he spoke to anyone about them. Funeral Ceremony will take place at Memories Chapel, 330-18th Street North, Brandon on Tuesday, July 23, 2019 at 11:00 a.m. Rev. Doug Craig will officiate with a reception to follow also at Memories Chapel. A private interment will be held at the Holy Ghost Ukrainian Catholic Cemetery, Sandy Lake, Manitoba.
