BRADLEY: Margaret “Joy” of Strathclair, Manitoba passed away suddenly on June 24, 2019 at the age of 76 years. Joy was born in Shoal Lake, Manitoba on August 17, 1942 to Margaret and Arthur Leitch. She was a big sister to Shirley, Gordon, Ernie and Lawrence. Joy grew up in the Strathclair area where she took her schooling and also met her husband Bing. They were married on July 9, 1960 and together they enjoyed farming and raising their family when their sons Bill and Mark were born. Joy was very artistic and could sew, knit, macramé, decorate cakes, paint and quilt. She was also an avid gardener, growing large gardens and preserving them for winter for her family. Joy was often a judge at local horticultural event and spent a few summers working for the Manitoba hay program. She loved the outdoors and all that nature had to offer like camping, fishing and bird watching and participated in numerous birding excursions. She took great pride in sharing her conservationist views and bird sightings in her local column “Birding Blips”. Bing and Joy retired from farming in 1996 but stayed on their farmyard so they could still enjoy their garden, fruit trees, birds and wildlife. During their retirement years Bing and Joy travelled down south where they could enjoy warmer winters golfing, going on birding trips and make many new friends. They travelled to Europe, Florida, Arizona and the Maritimes. Bing and Joy moved to town in 2014 when Bing’s health began to decline. She began working at the community centre and it became a very special place in her life. Joy was predeceased by her husband Bing, father Arthur and brother Gordon. She is lovingly remembered by her children, Bill (Eleanor) Bradley of Brandon; Mark (Sherry Francis) Bradley of Pilot Butte, Sasketwan and her grandchildren, Krista and Brad Congdon; Cody Bradley and Britney Zellmer.
