FOWKE: George Walter, age 91 years, beloved husband of Miriam, passed away on Sunday, July 21, 2019 at Valleyview Care Centre. Walter was born on February 29, 1928 at Robillard Township, near Charlton, Ontario. At the age of 3 years, Walter moved with his family to Elk Lake, Ontario and at the age of 13 years to Kirkland Lake, Ontario. He received a diploma in Theology at Western Bible College, Winnipeg, completed his Bachelor of Arts at the University of Winnipeg and obtained a teacher's certificate at the University of Manitoba. Walter went on to serve the Pentecostal Assemblies of Canada churches at various places in Manitoba, Ontario and the Northwest Territories for over 50 years. He also spent 7 years in the social work field. Walter will be lovingly remembered by his wife Miriam; sons Mark (Dorine) and Earl (Loraine) and daughter Mavis (Darryl) Paddock; as well as 9 grandchildren and 17 great-grandchildren. He was predeceased by his son Evan, his parents and three brothers. The Celebration of Walter's Life was held at Memories Chapel on Monday, July 29, 2019. Pastor Len Smith officiated.
