BELL: William Bill Donald Ross Bell, September 21, 1930 October 8, 2019. Bill Bell passed away October 8, 2019 at Bren Del Win Lodge, Deloraine, Manitoba. He is survived and greatly missed by sons Brian (Helen) of Victoria, Dean (Patricia) of Deloraine and Grant (Susan) of Calgary; brothers Ronald and George; grandchildren Scott (Lindsay), Anika, Andrew (Shannon), Britney (Brayden), Jayson (Dani), Graeme and Brynmor and great-grandchildren Anersyn and Oakland; nieces Susan and Alison and their families. He was predeceased by his parents, and his loving wife Kay. Bill was born in Deloraine, MB, the eldest son of William Harold and Myrtle (Sparrow) Bell. He grew up on the family farm at the site of Old Deloraine to which he returned after graduating from the University of Manitoba with a Diploma in Agriculture. On October 5, 1957 Bill married Kathleen Kay Urie and they spent the next 40 years together on the farm where they raised their three sons. They moved to Deloraine in 1997 but retirement was never a consideration for Bill and he continued to play an active role on the farm. Throughout his life Bill was recognized as a pioneer of progressive farming practices such as zero-till, an advocate of new Ag technology and a proud steward of the land. He was an inventor and craftsman at heart and loved designing, building and modifying machinery and equipment in their shop. Bill was an active member and sat on various boards in local organizations including the Masonic Lodge, The Deloraine Ag Society, The Deloraine Consumers Co-op, Deloraine Cemetery, The Deloraine School, The Deloraine Flying Club, The Manitoba-North Dakota Zero Tillage Association and proud supporter of his sons and grandchildrens clubs and teams. He was happiest when visiting with friends and neighbours and enjoyed square dancing, hunting, camping and touring the country in search of interesting people and sites. Cremation has taken place and a memorial service was held on October 15, 2019 at the Harvest Community Church in Deloraine, Manitoba. Private interment took place at Old Deloraine Cemetery.
