BRICKWOOD: Margaret (Peggy) Brickwood. Peggy Brickwood passed away on December 29, 2019 at the age of 90. She was recently predeceased by her husband of 66 years, Richard. She is survived by her six sons, Dave (George), Michael (Carla), Mark (Joyce), Robert (Dini), Douglas (Lisa) and Raymond (Andrea) as well as 8 grandchildren and 1 great grandchild. Mom spent her early adult years as a teacher in Virden Manitoba, in a one room school house, still standing and now a museum, before leaving to marry Richard and to raise her family. As the boys got older she was able to substitute teach in Selkirk. Margaret and Richard loved to travel and spent many winters in Arizona as well as travelling all over North America and England. Dad called Mom his co-pilot on their road trips. She knew where all the good ice cream stores were in North America. Mom was a social person. Along with Dad, they were active members of the Good Sam RV Club. She enjoyed playing bridge, painting, knitting, and loved her line dancing group that performed all over the Interlake. Peggy was a kind and generous person and loved children. There was always a trail of kids walking with her as she took the latest baby for an outing. Mom was well loved and will be missed. Cremation has already occurred. A celebration in her and Dads memory will be held at a later date.
