BRECHKA:Bill Edward Brechka passed away suddenly and peacefully on Sunday, December 15, 2019. Left to survive are his loving wife and best friend of 58 years, Audrey (nee Todoruk); son Danny; and daughter Terri (Kevin). He was proud Gido to Dana (Jeff), Hailey (Jake) and Quinn. They will miss his stories, teasing, hair pulling and treats. Bill is also survived by his sisters, Lucille, Betty, Maryanne (Peter), Patricia (Willy) and Marlene (Rene); sister-in-law Monica; brother and sister-in-law Freddie and Judy Todoruk; as well as numerous nieces, nephews and cousins in the Winnipeg, Dauphin and Brandon areas. Bill was predeceased by his parents, Mike and Mary; brothers, John and Jimmy; brother-in-law Bruno; second parents and in-laws Nick and Nellie Todoruk; many aunts, uncles, cousins and friends. Many are awaiting his journey home. Bill was born and raised in Brandon, MB. Bill worked at CPR and Winnipeg Enterprises for many years. He kept himself busy right up to the end. He enjoyed reading, gardening, watching sports and was still participating in floor curling. Bill was an expert napper and never missed the Young and the Restless. He loved to travel, but his first love was his family. Two words that describe Bill: Big Heart. He often volunteered and was proud to have been a blood donor most of his life. He was a firm believer in organ donation. At Bill's request there will be no formal funeral, he wanted a party. We will be honouring his wishes with a Celebration of Life on February 29, 2020, from 1:00-4:00 p.m. at the Charleswood Legion #100, 6003 Roblin Boulevard. We are requesting no flowers and if you want to donate to any charity it would make him happy. Remember to keep your tabs from canned drinks as we will be collecting them at the celebration. Think about signing your donor card and donate blood if you can.The family would like to thank Health Sciences Centre MICU doctors, nurses, especially Marilynn, Dr. Owen and Father Taras for all of your help and support through this tough time.We love you and we will miss you!!!Condolences may be sent towww.wojciksfuneralchapel.com
