BROWN: It is with broken hearts and a sense of overwhelming sadness and deep loss that the family of William Brown of Lockport, MB announces the passing of husband, father, grandfather and friend, on Monday, January 20, 2020, at the age of 84 years. William will be lovingly remembered by his wife of 56 years, Ethel (nee: Pearce) and his daughter, Kimberley Perron of Winnipeg, MB. William will also be fondly remembered by his two grandsons, Dillon and Josh Perron of Winnipeg and Lac du Bonnet, MB, and by his brother and sister-in-law Robert and Marilyn Pearce of Souris, MB, and their families. After a 32 1/2-year career with INCO LTD in Thompson, MB, first as an underground miner, then as a bridge operator in the Refinery and finally as an equipment operator in the Transportation Department, William and Ethel retired to Gimli, MB. They spent the next 11 years enjoying the company of their family, friends and beloved dog Joey. In 2007, they made the decision to downsize and embrace condo life in Lockport, MB where they still resided at the time of William’s passing. William was a kind, gentle, soft-spoken soul who was always willing to lend a hand. His docile nature and calm demeanour always made you feel comfortable. His quiet, tranquil nature will be forever missed. The family would like to extend immeasurable thanks to the wonderful staff at the Health Sciences Centre for their professional, caring and compassionate care of our loved one. Those who so desire, in lieu of flowers, may make memorial donations in memory of William to the Health Sciences Centre, or the Winnipeg Humane Society. Cremation has taken place. Family and friends will be invited to a graveside service in Souris, MB at a date to be announced in the local papers in late spring/early summer.
