HULBERT: Lisa Nicole, (August 9, 1984-January 25, 2020). The family of Lisa Hulbert is devastated to announce her sudden passing in Sydney, Australia. Born to Harold and Karen, and little sister to Kevin, Lisa attended J.R. Reid, Vincent Massey, and Brandon University. She had fond memories of her time working at Walmart's Photo Lab and Michaels and made many great friends. Lisa was determined to travel the world and worked hard to make that dream a reality, undertaking numerous adventures throughout North and South America, Europe, and Australia. She began those adventures in 2008 when she moved to the UK all by herself, showing great conviction and courage. She spent months in England before undertaking a 20 country trip, during which she made life-changing friendships with Jess and Beth of Australia. She then spent two years in Edinburgh, Scotland before returning to Canada and moving to Halifax where she spent seven years. She was a beloved member of FYidoctors, and served as an excellent Maritimes tour guide for friends who visited from around the world. Lisa was a passionate photographer and greatly enjoyed all types of creative work. She discovered cross-stitching (and eventually embroidery) and quickly established herself as a popular artist in both mediums. What started as custom Christmas decorations led to a long waiting list for her unique works and acceptance to prestigious art fairs around the world. In 2019 she began a new adventure and moved to Australia to pursue a certificate in graphic design. She excelled, and was very excited to pursue a career in the field. Lisa will be remembered for her loving nature, her thoughtfulness, her fierce loyalty to her friends, her meticulous trip planning, and her unforgettable sense of humour. She was predeceased by father Harold, grandmothers Adele Hulbert and Jean Lowe, her Aunt Sylvia Hulbert, Uncle Walter Gray, and close friend Shana Sellers. She will be terribly missed (and lovingly remembered) by Karen, Kevin (Christine), nephew Benjamin ("Eggs Benny" according to Lisa), Aunts Betty Lowe, Donna Gray and Valerie Glaser, cousins Erin, Matthew, Wendy, Elaine, Allison and Angela, and their families. In lieu of flowers, donations in memory of Lisa may be made to Cystic Fibrosis Canada (www.cysticfibrosis.ca) or to the Australian Koala Crisis (www.donate.wwf.org.au)
